It even featured celebrity guest Eliot Kennedy — a former pupil-turned songwriter and record producer to the stars.

The glitzy evening replaced the annual governors’ awards ceremony.

It included punch and canapes, as well as 60 awards for outstanding students and a performance from the school’s dance club.

The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham, Cllr Christopher Middleton and Mrs Anne Middleton, were among the special guests.
