LETTER TO THE EDITOR: We deserve better

I WOULD like to say how honoured and humbled I am to be chosen as the Labour Parliamentary Candidate to contest the Rother Valley, my home, where I have lived my entire life and where I have fought to make a difference in our local communities for over a decade. Rother Valley, like the rest of Rotherham, has been badly let down by this self-serving Conservative government.

My experience as a local councillor, community activist and through my time working in industry has given me the understanding we need to provide us with real leadership. As a local voice I will work every day for the interests of residents.

I am standing because I won’t stand-by and watch the lives and interests of the communities I grew up with made worse by this chaotic government. We deserve much better. Decisions made of many years by this out of control Conservative government have made all our lives worse off and we can’t let them get away with it.

I look forward to engaging and hearing what the priorities are for the good residents of the area and work with them to make our case for change and a better deal for local communities.

I believe only a strong Labour government after the next election will give us that.
