LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Stop the war and propaganda

IN last week’s Tiser, John Healey accuses me of challenging him on Labour’s condemnation of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. That is totally wrong!

What I do condemn is involving Britain in a US proxy war in an area (Ukraine) that has best been described as the most corrupt country in Europe, and is controlled by a mixture of murdering fascist warlords who have their own private armies, and have been murdering and persecuting Russian-speaking people who have lived in that region for centuries.

The country has, since the break up of the Soviet Union, seen its people robbed, predominantly by former KGB officers and oligarchs, of its land, oil, mines, factories, banks, and crucially its energy producing capability — the Biden family, reportedly, have invested heavily in it.

The breakdown of the former Soviet Union and the fire sale and theft that followed was seen as a golden opportunity for US imperialism and its ambitious entrepreneurs: but that didn’t happen!

Ukraine is now a hot-bed of violence and corruption run by fascist paramilitaries and their associates, and the US is using the situation to further their imperialist ambitions in that massive oil, gas, and mineral rich continent; and of course to take control of the warm water port of Sevastopol that links the region — the ancient Russian Empire — with the oceans of the world.

The oligarch Kolomoysky, who is using Zelensky, is a violent psychopath who has his own private army and has been involved in fraudulence in the US to the tune of billions of dollars, and has plundered the Ukraine at will.

They have both been found to have been incriminated in the Pandora papers scandal too.

Zelensky came to power after a campaign run by Kolomoysky, following the US-led political coup that ousted the Russian supporting Yanukovych, on a ticket of peace and anti-corruption.

This coup, in 2014, is best remembered by the heated outburst by Victoria Nuland, the US under secretary of state for political affairs, when she said “F*** the EU” (that was us, before Brexit). Remember that!

Last week saw an event in the Baltic Sea that should open everyone’s eyes as to who is controlling this blood bath and whose vested interests it serves. The two gas pipelines that supplied the cheap gas to Germany and beyond were blown up.

All the experts agree (American mainly) that only the US could have carried out the attack, and only they had a reason for doing so.

That is a violation of the sovereignty of Germany to decide their own position on the US imposed sanctions, and I am sure the German public will be expressing their opinion very shortly in no uncertain terms.

With Zelensky calling on NATO to attack Russia with nuclear weapons, I’ll repeat what I previously said in my letters: stop this utter madness before Europe is turned into a pile of smouldering ash.

The death toll so far is averaging 200 a day, but it’s good to know that the shares in BAE are “soaring to record levels”, and are expected to rise further over the next period.

Ultimately John, events will prevail over propaganda. And remember this most famous socialist saying: “the real enemy in any war is at home!”

Stop the War!
