LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Mayor’s power lust
YOUR report that South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard has been appointed chair of the new NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Partnership (Advertiser September 29) fills me with foreboding.
Surely he has enough to do already fulfilling his published intentions of, amongst other things, ‘fixing the buses’, creating and saving jobs, encouraging investment and promoting cleaner energy.
How will Mr Coppard possibly have time to undertake the enormous task of tackling health inequalities and improving and enhancing services throughout Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster and Sheffield?
A wiser man would recognise his own limitations and not fall victim to what appears to be an uncontrolled lust for power
