LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Do or die time for our planet

Doctor Goebbels, Adolf Hitler’s head of propaganda, once said “tell a lie often enough and people will believe it”. That seems to be the strategy for Clive Phillips and his climate denying associates as well.

COMMENTS on comments!

I had spent over two hours trying to trace the sources of his fantasies, in many cases without success, when I suddenly had the thought “why bother?”

Ok, some of the stuff he writes is possibly dangerous if acted on, but this last lot is a mixture of two truths, two misquotations (one of which was accompanied by the comment “Misinformation, the new International language”), a collection of misquotes by Gates, Gore, Ehrlich, Atalli, and a few lies and fantasies from him and his US Revolutionary Caucus, all mixed up and presented untruthfully to his readers as statements by members of the Green Party of Britain.

In future, readers, accept nothing of his as fact unless backed up by traceable proof, but just enjoy it as the fiction that it is.

But, if anyone wishes to read a real quotation from a Green Party member, I offer the following from a member of either Greenpeace or the Green Party that I read many years a ago. It may not be word for word accurate, it was some time ago, but it’s as near as I remember.

If everyone changes and starts to live as the Green Party say we must, and nothing happens after all, in a 100 years time we will look incredibly stupid to our descendants, but in the meanwhile we shall have been living on a clean planet, by a clean ocean, breathing pure air, and we will have created 15 million new clean, green jobs for the future. If on the other hand, we do not change, we ignore the signs about us and continue to live as we are doing now, and we were right, it won’t matter to our descendants anyway, they’ll probably be dead.
