LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Bag man for defunct PM who ridiculed fight for justice

I NOTE with interest that Alex Stafford MP has been promoted to serve as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the current Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, which raises a few questions about Mr Stafford and his commitment to righting the wrongs of the past.

Mr Johnson has previously described criminal proceedings where sexual violence victims and survivors are meant to get justice and closure as “money being spaffed up the wall”.

Tell me, pray, tell us all where these victims and survivors are meant to go if the PM thinks this is such a huge waste of time?

I also have to say that as a survivor I have been disgusted that our leader uses such disgusting language when he talks about our fight for justice.

Victims and survivors simply want to be left alone, yet witness intimidation and domestic violence darkens their door in the most horrific way possible.

Mr Stafford, if you want to be the bag man for this incredibly defunct man then be so. However, shouldn’t you hand your MP duties over to another person whilst you are?

Lobbying your close, personal and immediate boss about such vital issues will be nigh on impossible.

I write this a victim, now survivor, of sexual violence.
