LETTER: Careers in care are positive and vital
I work with a team of committed carers at Dearne Hall so I know the positive impact they have on the lives of the most vulnerable people in society, and how rewarding a career in care is.
To avoid an alarming shortfall of up to 1.1 million care workers by 2037, government must focus on encouraging the right people into this challenging and rewarding career.
We’re supporting the government’s recruitment drive by urging people who are looking for a rewarding career which makes a difference to the lives of older people to see which jobs are available at https://www.anchor.org.uk/careers.
But the government’s recruitment drive must be coupled with sustainable funding solutions for the sector which must be addressed in the much-delayed social care green paper.
