Landlord fine tip of iceberg
AFTER the £13,500 fine imposed on landlord Mohammed Tariq by Rotherham Magistrates are we at last going to see a much needed licencing scheme for landlords?
How many more unfit houses are being let out by these unscrupulous landlords with little or no checks done? You only have to go down Eastwood, Canklow and Masbrough on a Friday and watch the taxi drivers going collecting their rent (cash, no questions asked) to see the scale of it. There are houses in Eastwood where the lofts have been made into rooms right above the tenant’s heads. This is a fact and until these landlords and their houses and tenants are policed and checked this will carry on and on.
Well done to Rotherham Magistrates for coming down hard on this man but to be brutally honest this is only the tip of the iceberg.
