Hospital saved my life

I OFTEN read letters in your column criticising the service at Rotherham General Hospital.

However I am 63-years-old and had the need to use the NHS at Rotherham for the first time in my life and without being too dramatic they saved my life.

Can I through your newspaper thank the staff in the labs who check patients’ blood and carry out other tests on a daily basis as we often forget their vital role in assisting doctors in reaching the right diagnosis for each patient.

I would also wish to thank doctors and staff in B1 and A5 wards for nursing me back to strength before my operation and to the surgeon and consultant and all the nurses on Sitwell ward for a successful outcome and I am now on my way to a full recovery.

Well done NHS Rotherham.
