Dracula comes to Rotherham

I HAVE to feel sorry for poor old Romania. They don’t seem to be having much luck with their financial investments in tourism.

Ten years ago plans to build a Dracula theme park failed and 14,000 investors lost their money. In 1995 a $6m promotion failed, a seaside paradise never materialised and they lost 130 million Euros on a skiing centre amongst other plans

Currently they are ranked at 70 in the world for visitor numbers, well below that of Hungary and Bulgaria, despite having magnificent castles and beautiful churches. But that’s all behind them now, and things are definitely on the up.

Yes folks it’s the start of a beautiful friendship after a four day visit by members of Rotherham council and the guys from the band — “cue music”...

What next I wonder: a Dracula themed Rotherham Tesco ?
