Dog waste bin needed

OLD Town Lane has the entrance to several public footpaths, leading to Scholes, Wentworth and beyond.

Not surprisingly, many dog-walkers use these footpaths, but not all “pick up or pay up”.

Consequently, the lane, pavement snd public footpaths are covered in dog muck.

Last February, I contacted Street Pride and asked for a dog waste bin to be put at the entrance. I was told there was no money. In April, I contacted Councillor Barron, who visited the site and agreed that a dog bin was needed. We locals are still waiting for the bin.

I have just contacted Street Pride again, but have been told that my request remains on their records but there is no funding for it.

Rotherham Council have recently spent £9,000 of our money on a banquet for themselves and their pals, but have no money to spend on basic services. What a rip-off. They don’t deserve one vote!
