Council are killing town
1) Finally killing off the Corporation Street side of town; I refer of course to the opening of the new Tesco.
A few years ago the council refused Tesco permission to develop the old Guest and Chrimes site because it would harm trade in the town centre, but one assumes there must be developers lined up to take over Corporation Street. After all, most of the buildings would be perfect for conversion to flats to house financial migrants.

Hide AdI fully expect tumbleweeds to be cascading down Corporation Street by March and Rotherham councillors will be wringing their hands at the demise of the few businesses left on that side of town; just for show of course. Then again it may detract from the on going investigation into the child abuse in the town, although I think we should expect that report to be published about 2025 when all the guilty have either retired to the sun or died.
2) Not having to take any money from the “Essential fact finding trips to the Caribbean” fund by not gritting the roads until December 27, after all traffic was just about at a standstill.
Well done the voting public of Rotherham; sadly we all get the fall out because most of you have “Always voted Labour!”
Happy New Year!
