Young people plan town centre takeover

“Taking Back The Town” next Saturday will showcase what young people in Rotherham can really do when a light is shone on their talent, say organisers.

Weeks of work with youth clubs and tenants groups have gone into organising the day, under the banner of “The Mix” project created by Chol Theatre.

Events have included a successful fundraiser at the Asda supermarket at Dalton and an inspiring day at the Rotherham Youth Conference during the Easter break, with drama workshops exploring life in Rotherham and presentations from artists.

On the day the town will be taken over and there will be activities and installations at the Minster, Old Market Gallery, Imperial Buildings and All Saints’ Square.
