Young dancers wanted for Rotherham panto

THE hunt is on for a fleet-footed young panto star to take to the stage of Rotherham Civic Theatre.

Jack and the Beanstalk star Dean Winter will be performing alongside a potential new dancing star when the show opens on December 2.

Producers are now calling on young performers aged six to 11 to come forward and show off their skills.

Mark Scott, theatre manager said: “We’re looking for dedicated, but fun-loving people who live for entertaining audiences.”

Those interested must have be 4ft 8ins tall or less and have some training in ballet and modern dance.

Mr Scott said: “They’ll have to have great stamina as there will be dozens of performances over the six week period, as well as having 100 per cent commitment to putting on a great show day after day.”

The auditions take place at the Civic Theatre next Tuesday, August 30, at 4.30pm.

Mr Scott said: “The young performers who take part in the pantomime always have a great time and find the experience invaluable in their performing career.”
