Workers evacuated after suspicious package found

BUSINESSES have been evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious package.

Sheffield Road, Templeborough, is currently closed between St Lawrence Road and the junction with Ickles Way.

Police said it received reports of a suspicious package at around 9am this morning (Tuesday).

An eyewitness said businesses within 200m of the package — on Temple Road — were being evacuated.

A police spokeswoman said police are currently liaising with the explosive ordinance disposal unit.
