Wombwell folk invited to join ‘neighbourhood network’

Wombwell Come and meet your Community Event will take place from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, January 30, at the Operatic Centre, George Street, Wombwell.

The event will feature stalls and displays promoting the work of local groups as well as Barnsley Council and Wombwell Community Alliance (a membership consisting of local elected members and community representatives).

A spokeswoman for the event said: “Wombwell residents are invited to pop in and find out more about the fabulous work being carried out by the many groups who give their time to help make Wombwell a better place.  

“If you are looking for something to get involved with, then this event is the place to be.

“Residents can also find out more new arrangements being put in place by Barnsley Council to work with its communities.”

Work is already being undertaken by We Love Wombwell (an existing community network) in partnership with the Wombwell Community Alliance to develop an initiative.
