Woman suffers burned hand after accidental kitchen blaze

A WOMAN was treated for a burns to her hand after clothing put on top of a hob caused a kitchen fire in Dinnington.

The woman, two children and a dog were rescued by firefighters at Doe Quarry Road after the accidental clothing blaze spread to a bicycle and a roll of lino flooring, which were both near the cooker.

Other items then set alight during the incident at 9.30pm last Thursday.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “The female casualty suffered a small burn to their hand, which was treated by ambulance staff.”

Three fire crews from Aston, Maltby, and Rotherham stations attended the fire and left the scene at 11.20pm.
