Woman hospitalised after fire in home

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called to a property on Barden Crescent and landed on Brinsworth Whitehall Primary School’s playing field.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said two crews from Rotherham also attended the scene at 2.15pm.

Crews were at the scene for 90 minutes and a woman was taken to hospital.

The spokesman said the incident was not connected to the school, and was inside a property on Barden Crescent.

The fire is understood to have been started deliberately.
