Why Niamh's wild about One Direction's Harry

BRAVE Rotherham youngster Niamh Power had the time of her life when she got to meet her pop idols, One Direction.

Niamh (8), of Maltby, is battling a brain tumour and her big day out was arranged by family friend Amanda Turner, who contacted the Brit-winning boyband’s management, who then arranged the meet-and-greet through charity Rays of Sunshine.

She travelled to London to meet the boys at a London hotel, before being taken out for lunch followed by a sight-seeing trip in a limo.

Niamh’s granddad Brendan (67), said: Meeting the band was a really big boost to her. She’s quite ill at the moment and experiences like this make a huge difference.”

Dad Simon (34), , who also has a son Sebastian (10) with wife Marie (40), said: “Everyone in the band spent time talking to her.

“Harry, her favourite, gave her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. She says she’s never going to wash that cheek again.”

A zumba party, dubbed a night out with a workout, to raise money for Niamh takes place at Dinnington Resource Centre tonight at 7pm. See www.intershapestudios.co.uk for more.
