THURCROFT CANCER CHARITY SHOP: September 11 – annual donation evening 7pm in Thurcroft Miners’ Institute on Katherine Street when £53,000 will be donated to local cancer charities. Tickets available from the shop on Green Arbour Road or at door.

ALZHEIMER’S AND DEMENTIA MEMORY CAFÉ: Meet first Tuesday of month at Gordon Bennett Memorial Hall 1.30-3.30pm.

CRAFT GROUP: Members worked on their sewing, crocheting, knitting, on the jewellery table. die cutting, rubber stamping, decoupage and putting general cards together.

THURCROFT BOWLING CLUB: Meet every Saturday 10.30am-noon with bowling instruction. Monday – men’s A and B teams 6pm. Tuesday – lady vets 2pm, men’s A and B team 6pm. Wednesday – senior ladies play double 11am, mixed doubles 6pm. Contact secretary Alan 01709 542050.

THURCROFT LIBRARY: Every week get expert help on how to get into work. Sessions cover writing a CV, applying for jobs online, apprenticeships and interview techniques.
