Wellgate closed for gas leak repairs
A GAS leak near to a petrol station closed one of the town’s busiest routes for almost two hours.
Police closed Wellgate, between Mansfield Road and Hollowgate, at 7.15pm on Saturday.
Engineers from Transco were called in to carry out repairs and the fuel pumps at the nearby Jet petrol station were turned off for the duration of the works as a precaution.
Repairs were completed and the road re-opened at around 9pm.
