Wedding flashmob video goes viral

NIMBLE-footed newlyweds Tracy and Gary Richardson (pictured) became global internet hits after staging a flashmob in the middle of their church wedding.

A video of their impromptu disco dance with the Rev Kate Bottley — just after the vows — went viral and has been viewed 300,000 times on YouTube.

The amazing three-minute clip shows the stunned 100-strong congregation joining in the Wickersley couple’s fun.

Tracy (37), who met Gary (48) through work 11 years ago, said: “We were planning our wedding when Kate made the tongue-in-cheek suggestion of having a flashmob as part of the ceremony. We took her up on it, not realising in a million years or our wildest dreams that it would become what it has.”

The Rev Bottley (38), who was ordained five years ago, said: “I hope that this wonderful outpouring of joy at the end of their vows sets the tone for the whole of their marriage.”
