Michael, of Ingshead Avenue, Rawmarsh, realised a dream when he was picked to join Merlin’s Magic Academy in Wakefield.

He said: “It felt brilliant to find out I’d made it. I got involved with magic about three years ago, just with a few bits and bobs and a pack of cards. It just went from there.”
