Young man stabbed on Kimberworth street

A YOUNG man is in a “serious but stable condition” in hospital after being stabbed on a Kimberworth street.

Police are investigating the attack, which happened on Wortley Road at around 7.25pm yesterday (Tuesday).

Three men travelling in a black Ford Focus followed the 23-year-old victim down Grange View Road, on to Wortley Road, where they assaulted him, it was reported.

"The 23-year-old sustained stab wounds in the incident and currently remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition", said a police spokesman.

Anyone who saw the incident, or who saw a black Ford Focus driving in the area at the time, is urged to contact police.

Witnesses are asked to telephone officers on 101, quoting incident number 837 of June 5.
