‘Words fail us’ — officers condemn Brinsworth drink-driver

Officers condemned the motorist and said it was lucky there were no passengers or pedestrians involved.

The single-vehicle collision occurred on Saturday morning in Whitehill Lane, Brinsworth.

“Fortunately there wasn’t a passenger in the vehicle, and the driver is currently receiving treatment in hospital,” an SYP Operational Support officer said on Saturday.

“Fortunately there wasn’t anyone walking on the pavement when the car lost control.”

The officer said the driver provided a breath sample which was “pretty much three times over the limit”, adding: “Words fail us.”
