"Wonder"-ful wedding gift from Rotherham charity to Harry and Meghan

WHEN Prince Harry and Meghan Markle get round to opening their wedding presents, they’ll find among them a weird and wonderful gift from Rotherham.

Rotherham-based charity Africa’s Gift donated two “wonderbags” to the happy couple to help promote their campaign for safe cooking in Africa.

Charity founder Ken Dunn (pictured) handed over the unusual gifts — one with a ring of orange and a camouflage design in a nod to Harry’s ginger hair and Army service — to staff at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

Ken, whose charity organises trips to Lesotho in southern Africa for supporters,  said he had enjoyed a “crazy day” in the capital after travelling from his home in Clifton.

“I ended up driving into Buckingham Palace two days before the wedding to hand over the wonderbags in person.

“I even had the opportunity of doing a short demonstration of how the wonderbag works with staff from the Duke of Edinburgh’s office.”

Ken said he hoped the royal couple may take a personal interest in the “wonderbags” — slow cookers which do not use traditional methods such as burning wood — and back the campaign to distribute them in Africa.
