Wombwell woodland assault appeal

A MAN was found with severe facial injuries in Wombwell woods following a suspected assault. 

Police are keen to find a dog walker who helped the 30-year-old with directions to Hoyland. 

The injured man was found at 5am on April 16 near to Woodhead Lane. 

Officers also want to speak to anyone who used the roads through the woods from 7pm the previous day. 

A spokeswoman said: “The exact circumstances around how the man sustained his injuries are still being investigated but officers suspect he may have been assaulted.”
