Wombwell collision witnesses sought

A MOTORIST has been left with serious injuries after a two-car collision in Wombwell.

A blue Volkswagen Golf was driving towards White Rose roundabout on Barnsley Road at 9.09pm on Friday, April 6 when a green Vauxhall Astra pulled out of a parking space and, while completing a u-turn, collided with the Golf, said a police spokeswoman.

“The driver of the Astra, a 52-year-old man, suffered serious injuries to his pelvis,” said the spokeswoman.

“The passenger, a 51-year-old woman suffered minor injuries.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident 920 of April 6.
