Woman 'threatened and tied up' after burglary in Brinsworth

MASKED raiders tied a woman up and stole a safe full of cash from a property, a police spokeswoman said.

The burglary is said to have taken place at a property on Crownhill Road, Brinsworth, at around 3pm on Friday, December 7.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said the suspects entered the property after knocking on the door.

“The suspects, who are believed to have had their faces covered, proceeded to threaten the woman before tying her up and searching the property,” said the spokeswoman

“They then left the scene with a safe containing a quantity of cash, leaving the victim tied up.”

Police have conducted house-to-house enquiries and are looking at security footage as part of their investigation.

Anyone who saw the burglary, or anyone who witnessed suspicious activity, is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 515 of December 7.
