Woman suffers serious injuries after head-on collision

AN 84-year-old woman was seriously injured and two other people were hurt when a car struck four parked cars before being colliding head-on with another vehicle in Greasbrough.

AN 84-year-old woman was seriously injured and two other people were hurt when a car struck four parked cars before colliding head-on with another vehicle in Greasbrough.

A black Toyota Yaris was travelling into Greasbrough on Church Street when it clipped a stationary green Toyota 4x4 Land Cruiser.

Police said that the driver appeared to lose control of the Yaris, hitting three parked cars on the other side of the road—a silver Ford Mondeo, a silver Renault Clio and a

green Rover 25—before crashing into a black Peugeot 206.

The accident happened just after 5pm on Monday.

A passenger in the Yaris, an 84-year-old Swinton woman, is detained at Rotherham General Hospital with serious head, chest and back injuries.

The Yaris driver, a 62-year-old Swinton woman, received slight neck and chest injuries, was taken to Rotherham General Hospital but was not admitted.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 27-year-old Greasbrough woman, who sustained slight neck and chest injuries, was also not detained at hospital.
