Woman suffers head injury in alleged street attack

POLICE are seeking witnesses after a woman was allegedly assaulted outside a pub.

The victim suffered a head injury, which is not believed to be life threatening, during the incident just before 10am last Friday.

It happened outside the Robin Hood Inn on Station Street in Swinton.

A police spokeswoman said: “A man and a woman have been arrested in the West Yorkshire area and released on bail pending further enquiries.

“Anyone who believes they may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 366 of July 27.

“Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
