Woman rescued from Parkgate flat fire

A WOMAN was rescued by firefighters after a flat caught fire in Parkgate yesterday (Sunday).

Fire crews from Rotherham, Dearne and Elm Lane stations attended the scene in Rawmarsh Hill at 5.45am.

"A fire was started in one of the rooms and a woman had to rescued from that room," said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. 

"Crews left the scene just before 7am and the cause is still under investigation."
