Woman killed in crash which seriously injured three others — including children

Emergency services were called to the two-car collision on Doncaster Road, Darfield, just after 3.30pm yesterday.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue said: “Sadly, one woman died in the collision and one woman and two children were taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

“Firefighters ensured the vehicles were made safe before handing the incident over to South Yorkshire Police at 4.52pm.

“Our thoughts go out to the friends and family of those who were involved in this tragic incident.”

Police are expected to give further details later today.
