Woman found injured in Eastwood dies

A WOMAN who was found injured at a property in Eastwood has died while a man arrested on suspicion of assaulting her has been released from the investigation.

The woman (46), who was found injured at a property on Lindley Street on the evening of Monday, December 30, died on Saturday, a police spokeswoman said.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Tuesday was inconclusive but her death is not being treated as suspicious, she added.

"Further tests are underway to establish the exact cause of her death and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course," she said.

A man (49) who was previously arrested on suspicion of assault has been released from the investigation, added the spokeswoman.
