Woman driver dies in smash

A FEMALE motorist was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision involving a car and a lorry earlier today.

The Toyota Avensis driver was killed in an accident on the A635, between Hickleton and Marr, at around 11.20am.

Firefighters from Dearne Fire Station provided assistance to paramedics in extracting the the casualty from the vehicle.

A second female occupant from the Toyota was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
