Woman (89) taken to hospital after Aughton car park collision

A PENSIONER was taken to hospital after a collision with a car in a pub car park on Saturday.

A PENSIONER was taken to hospital after a collision with a van in a pub car park on Saturday.

Road traffic officers are appealing for witnesses after a collision between the woman (89) and a Vauxhall Astra in the car park of the Black Bull pub on Main Street at around 12.15pm on Saturday.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries, where she remains in a stable condition, a police spokeswoman said.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the women’s movements in the hours before the incident.

PC Adrian Hill, investigating, said: “The driver of the Vauxhall van had parked in the car park to visit a nearby business.

"On officers' arrival at the scene the driver was routinely breath-tested, blowing zero. He is fully co-operating with our enquiries.

“I’m interested in speaking to anyone who might have seen the elderly lady on Main Street or near to the Black Bull around the time of the collision.

"If you have any dash-cam or CCTV footage, could you also make contact with us.

“If you have any information that might help, please call 101 quoting incident number 412 of October 17.”
