Woman (54) injured in Centenary Way collision

A WOMAN suffered fractures and concussion in a collision on Centenary Way yesterday (Thursday) which closed the road, causing major tailbacks

The 54-year-old pedestrian collided with a car near New York Junction at 3.25pm yesterday, a police spokeswoman said.

"The pedestrian was taken to hospital with suspected fracture injuries and concussion," she said.

"The injuries were not life-threatening."

Centenary Way was closed in both directions which caused traffic to build up in and around Rotherham town centre.
