WItness plea over Centenary Way accident

A PEDESTRIAN suffered serious head and leg injuries after being hit by a van on Centenary Way, Rotherham.

A PEDESTRIAN suffered serious head and leg injuries after being hit by a van on Centenary Way.

The 52-year-old, from Brinsworth, is believed to have stepped into the path of the white Citroen Dispatch.

Police said he walked into the road from the driver’s offside last Thursday (21) and stopped briefly in the central reservation.

The pedestrian was taken to Rotherham General Hospital and later transferred to Sheffield’s Northern General.

He had surgery on his leg and was yesterday said to be stable.
