Witness plea after crash shuts M1
POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a traffic collision which closed the southbound carriageway of the M1 for around 15 minutes.
The incident happened in strong winds and heavy rain shortly after 3am on Tuesday, January 3, just before junction 31 of the motorway.
None of the cars’ occupants were injured, but both vehicles—a grey BMW 3 series and a red Nissan Micra—were badly damaged, as was the nearside barrier.
Anyone who saw the accident or the manner in which the cars were being driven prior to it are asked to contact police on non-emergency number 101 and quote incident number 78 of January 3, 2012.
