Witness plea after collision closes M18 near Bramley

TWO people needed hospital treatment after a collision which blocked the M18 motorway.

The incident happened near Bramley on Saturday (1) at 9.25am close to to junction 1 on the southbound carriageway.

A police spokesman said: “A Fiat Ducato van was in collision with a Suzuki SX4, which subsequently collided with a trailer being towed by a Chevrolet Orlando 4x4.

“The driver and passenger of the Suzuki were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries.

“The driver, a 33-year-old man, suffered cuts and bruises, and the passenger, a 64-year-old woman, suffered injuries to her chest, shoulders and spine.

“No-one else was injured in the collision.”

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to call 101, quoting 300 of September 1.
