Witness appeal after Swallownest arson

POLICE officers in Rotherham are appealing for witnesses following a suspected arson in Swallownest.

Occupants of a house on Arcubus Avenue were woken by a loud bang and noticed the house was filled with smoke on Thursday, October 31, at around 12.15am.

A spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Police said the fire had spread quickly and caused a substantial amount of damage to the property.

"All of the occupants managed to get out of the house unharmed," added the spokeswoman.

"Do you live in the area? Did you hear or see anything suspicious that morning? Please call 101 quoting incident number 13 of October 31, 2019."
