Will Young comes to South Yorkshire

POP star Will Young is under starters orders for this year’s summer of music at Doncaster.

The soulful singer and former Pop Idol winner will be the first act to perform as part of this year's Music Live series at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday, May 14.

Last year the racecourse played host to a string of top bands, including ska band Madness, reggae rockers UB40 and New Romantic super-group Spandau Ballet.

Simply Red and Level 42 also due to perform at the racecourse later this year.

Kieron Gallagher, executive director at Doncaster Racecourse, said: “Will Young captured the hearts of the nation when he was crowned Pop Idol champion in 2002 and has continued to entertain the British public since with hits including All Time Love and Leave Right Now.

“We have a fantastic line up of musical entertainment to compliment the sporting action over the summer months, with Simply Red and Level 42 set to entertain the crowds and other exciting acts lined up to perform at the racecourse this year.”

Tickets for Will’s gig are on sale priced £40 to £65 on 01302 304200 or go to www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk.
