'Wilderness ride' for cyclists

CYCLISTS of all abilities are encouraged to sign up for Sky Ride Local’s organised rides.

The scheme from British Cycling, Sky and Rotherham Borough Council include a mix of easy-going, steady and challenging routes.

British Cycling recreation manager Helen Webster said: “Whether you want to build your confidence or are looking for a challenge, now’s the time to register your free place.”

Advisory Cabinet member Cllr Denise Lelliott said: “It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, plus there’s always an opportunity to have a break with tea and cake.”

Upcoming events include a wildlife and wilderness 30-mile route on Sunday and a South Yorkshire hidden gems ride of the same distance on November 29. For more information, visit britishcycling.org.uk.
