Whiston house "burgled the day after man's death"

NEIGHBOURS were left dismayed after a man’s house was reportedly burgled the day after he died.

The break-in occurred last month in Whiston, according to a resident who called the incident “disgusting”.

He added: “The police came to the house and we asked what had happened. They said the man who lived there, who we did not know well, had died.

“The following day, council workmen were there. They said someone had broken the window round the back. It’s disgusting.”

The resident said he believed cash had been stolen.

A police spokeswoman confirmed the burglary had been reported at 2pm on November 17 and appealed for anyone with information to call them on 101 quoting incident number 0514 of that date.
