Wheelie bin fire in Rotherham was deliberate

A WHEELIE bin was deliberately set alight in an arson attack in Rotherham town centre this morning (Tuesday).

Firefighters from Rotherham station were called to the deliberate blaze in Spring Walk at 6.10am and left the scene at 6.45am, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

A portable gas fire caught fire accidentally at a property in Bramwell Street, Eastwood, at 11.40pm last night (Monday).

Firefighters from Rotherham station spent half an hour tackling the blaze, the spokesperson said.
