More than 2,000 well-wishers have now joined a tribute page on Facebook in memory of the 15-year-old.

Her death also shook the community at Ridgewood School, where Amy would have been beginning her GCSE year.

A condolence message from her family described her as a beloved daughter, a dear sister and a dearly-loved granddaughter and niece.

It added: “She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.”

The deputy Coroner for Doncaster, Mr Mark Beresford, adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.
