THREE people wanted by police barricaded themselves into a Rawmarsh property during a three-hour stand-off and armed themselves with hammers.
Tactical Support Group officers from South Yorkshire police were called to the home in Brameld Road on Saturday afternoon where three people were wanted in relation to “criminal matters”.
The trio, armed with hammers, refused to leave, barricaded themselves in and began to self-harm, said police.

An officer said: “They threatened to set fire to the premises should officers enter, and harm any officer coming in.
“TSG officers forced entry carrying shields, as the occupants armed themselves with hammers.
“Unfortunately for them, TSG quickly and forcibly took control of all occupants.”
Police arrested the trio at around 4.30pm.
Enquiries are ongoing and South Yorkshire Police has been contacted for an update.
