Wales High pupils lay wreaths during battlefields tour

PUPILS laid wreaths at the Menin Gate Memorial during a trip to the Great War battlefields of Belgium.

More than 30 youngsters from Wales High toured the region. A school spokesman said: “The centenary of the Battle of the Somme made the whole thing more poignant still.”

The Menin Gate, Ypres, is dedicated to British and Commonwealth soldiers who were killed in the war and whose graves are unknown.
