Volunteers join forces to put on huge Christmas party for South Anston community

A FAMILY welcomed dozens of people to a church hall for their annual Christmas dinner.

Kindness and Co, which was founded by the Smith family to bring together those who might otherwise be alone at Christmas, hosted the festive feast at South Anston Methodist Church on Christmas Day.

It first started after the family went out for a Christmas and left unimpressed and has now grown into a huge celebration for the whole community.

A team of volunteers joined forces to wrap presents, peel vegetables and lay tables for the event.

This time around, they were joined by member of Rotherham Round Table (below, with Ruby and Bluebell Smith), whose donations have helped fund community meals and welfare bags for new school starters.

Children from Anston Park School also played their part by making Christmas cards and snowman pegs for all the guests.
