POLICE are investigating the theft of a charity box from a Maltby pharmacy.
The British Heart Foundation box was taken from the shop on Blyth Road at around 8.30pm last Thursday, January 4.
Staff member Ellie Pepper had put the collection tin on the shop’s counter, in memory of her grandfather, who died last year after suffering a heart attack.
CCTV captured a man picking up the money box and putting it in his jacket, before walking out of the door.
Another man is seen standing near the door while the thief took the cash.
Ellie posted on Facebook: “Stealing is bad enough, but stealing a charity box is beyond disgusting.”
Officers investigating have reviewed the video and made enquiries in the area and are now appealing for witnesses.
They urge anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference number 14/12898/18, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
